Curriculum Vitae

Dr Alexandros Papachristoforou graduated from the Department of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2000. He has acquired an MSc degree in Horticulture and Viniculture in 2003 and in 2008 he was awarded a PhD on Apiculture from the Department of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has carried out postdoctoral research at the Department of Biology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and at the French National Center of Scientific Research (C.N.R.S.). Since 2023 he is Assistant Professor of Applied Apiculture at the Department of Animal Science at the University of Thessaly and since 2024, he is the director of the Laboratory of Applied Apiculture, University of Thessaly. He has published 23 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals, and he has more than 50 presentations in national and international congresses. He participated in numerous scientific projects, and he was elected as Secretary and Vice-President of the European Professional Beekeepers Association (E.P.B.A.) for 14 years.
