Reproductive Endocrinology and Assisted Reproduction in farm animals

Research Interests

  1. Developmental embryology. Ιn vitro oocyte maturation, fertilization, embryo culture and vitrification. Gene expression and proteomics in oocytes, cumulus cells and blastocysts.
  2. Assisted reproduction in ruminants. Pharmaceutical control of the estrοus cycle, induction of multiple ovulation, embryo collection, transfer and cryopreservation.
  3. Reproductive endocrinology.
  4. Studies on epigenetic effects of metabolic peptides on small ruminants reproductive endocrinology and metabolism
  5. Effects of summer heat stress on dairy cows’ fertility

Curriculum Vitae

Dr Eleni G Dovolou is Dental Surgeon (University of Athens, 1989), Veterinary Surgeon (University of Thessaly, 2000) and PhD holder (Faculty of Medicine, University of Thessaly, 2014). She has been trained for one year in General Surgery at the Karditsa General Hospital (1990) and she carried out Post-doctoral research at ELGO DEMETRA under fellowship from the Greek ministry of Agriculture (2014). In 2020 became member of academic staff (Associate Professor)  in the Dept of Animal Science –U.Th- where she serves as Head of the Laboratory of Animal Reproduction. She has been member of the research group in 11 research projects, she is author in 25 papers and she has presented studies in 16 international and 10 national meetings.
